  3. Juicing: Does It Really Make a Difference?

There’s no doubt juicing is the latest health trend. Fresh-squeezed and freshly bottled juices have become a popular way to get the health benefits of fruits and vegetables and are also favored by dieters looking to “cleanse” their way to weight loss. But do juicing’s health claims hold up?

They say that juicing is one of the best ways to feel better, look better and have more energy. Some of the most common types of vegetable juice are carrot, cucumber, tomato, celery, lettuce, cabbage, and ginger, among others.

My parents are practicing this juicing of fruits and vegetables for their health. They say that it has lot of health benefits and encouraged me to join them. In their terms, what they do is they’re drinking one glass in the morning and one in the night. In the morning, they juice up vegetables; fruits for the evening follows. I tried to join them for a week and this is my verdict with the health benefits I noticed trying it:

The body remains hydrated because you have your dose of vegetables in the liquid form. Hence, my body remains hydrated – making me feel active and rejuvenated.

I noticed a drastic change with my hair growth. People around me would always tell me that my hair grew faster than ever! As I research about it, drinking vegetable juice also helps in hair growth. Spinach, carrots and onions are good choices for promoting growth of hair. Juice them and drink them to get beautiful hair!

Drinking vegetable juice is healthier than just eating different vegetables. Meaning, the body absorbs nutrients in a much better way when vegetables are consumed in the form of juice. Based on a research that I read, some of the minerals and antioxidants in vegetable juice can cleanse the colon and re-balance the bacteria in your gut.

Knowing my skin, I’m an acne-prone type of girl. That’s why it has been a major change for me to see that my skin is doing well and doesn’t have much breakouts! The high level of antioxidants found in vegetable juice is excellent for oxidative stress, which often occurs on the skin. Drinking vegetable juice regularly can improve the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, scars and age spots.

In order to get the benefits of all the nutrients, you need to keep on chewing vegetables throughout the day, right? So, an easier option is to put them in the juicer and drink a cup to your health. Make a habit to drink the juice daily. I swear it makes a lot of difference for your health!
